Abbey DLD College Cambridge

Abbey DLD College Cambridge Study Programmes

GCSE

Abbey DLD Cambridge offers one-year, 18-month and two-year GCSE programmes. Every year, the college’s students achieve above the UK average.

The one- and two-year courses start in September, with the 18-month programme starting every January. Students can choose to study the following subjects:

  • art and design;
  • natural and exact sciences;
  • business, economics;
  • English language;
  • history;
  • sports sciences.

Students study six subjects over a one-year programme, with programmes lasting 18 months and two years, with nine subjects.

A-level

The college accepts students aged 16 to 19 years old for the 18-month or two-year programme. Students study four subjects in the first year and three to four subjects in the second. If students’ basic English level is below IELTS 7.5, they will also have to complete an academic English programme during their first year.

A-level at the college includes the following subjects:

  • business, economics, accounting;
  • art and design;
  • exact and natural sciences;
  • English Literature;
  • history, geography, political science;
  • psychology.

To get acquainted with the A-level program, the college offers the A-Level Short Course Programme. Courses lasting one, two or three terms allow you to evaluate the benefits of the program and, if desired, continue your studies at Abbey DLD Cambridge.

International Foundation Programmes

Every September, the International Foundation Programme starts - an intensive one-year course aimed at preparing international students for admission to top British universities.

During each term, students will study four core subject modules in one of the following areas:

  • business management and economics;
  • science;
  • medicine;
  • engineering;
  • humanities.

Pre-Sessional Programme

This one to three term programme allows international students to improve their English language skills to enable them to progress to GCSE, A-level or IFP.

Another important objective of the course is to prepare international students for a typical British educational environment. As part of the programme, students:

  • work in teams;
  • develop projects;
  • participate in discussions;
  • are engaged in team building.

Additional attention is paid to physical education, personal health and social education.

British Boarding School Experience

The program is designed for students over 14 years old and allows them to study an academic program at a leading boarding school in the country. Benefits of the course:

  • study of the internationally recognized British curriculum;

Academic Summer

Short summer courses for students aged 13 to 18 years old, lasting from one to eight weeks, prepare them for GCSE, A-level and IB. Courses run in July and August.

The programme combines academic preparation with a rich leisure programme, allowing you to gain first-class skills, visit a wide range of attractions and make new friends.

Extracurricular activities at Abbey DLD College Cambridge

The college has more than six dozen clubs, sections and clubs under the guidance of teachers and the students themselves. Depending on personal preferences, schoolchildren can choose activities in one of three key areas:

  • activities - badminton, basketball, football, golf, horse riding, martial arts, swimming, ping-pong, volleyball;
  • affiliation - mentoring, model UN, debate club, film club, gardening. foreign languages, IELTS 7.0, rhetoric, mathematics, social media ambassadorship, volunteering, sports leadership;
  • creativity - music production, rock bands, chess, book clubs, craftsmen, writers, acting, engineering, vocals, photography club and others.

Accommodation at Abbey DLD Cambridge

During their studies, students live in a boarding house located directly on campus in the city center. There are single and double bedrooms with a bathroom and full board.

The territory is guarded 24 hours a day. In the immediate vicinity of the place of residence there are parks, shops, cinemas, restaurants, state colleges, headquarters of famous companies.

Tuition fees at Abbey DLD Cambridge

The cost of training depends on the chosen program and its duration:

  • GCSE: one year - £32,085, 18 months - £27,860 for the first six months + full year's fee, two years - £32,085/year;
  • A-level: 18 months - £27,860 for the first six months + full annual fee, two years - £32,085/year;
  • Pre-Sessional Programme: one term - £9,115, two terms - £18,230, three terms - £27,345;
  • British Boarding School Experience: от £10,610;
  • IFP: £25,175.

Homestay accommodation costs from £10,300/year, boarding from £18,000/year.

Additional costs include:

  • registration fee: £500;
  • deposit: £2000;
  • flight, pocket money, excursions outside the curriculum.
