Brighton College

Brighton College is a prestigious independent co-educational boarding school for students aged 3 to 18, providing high quality education since 1845. The college is located in Brighton, in the Camptown area. The seaside (25 minutes' walk) and the South Down National Park (15 minutes' walk) are in close proximity to the school. The journey from the school to London by train takes about 1.5 hours. Brighton College offers both day and boarding options. The school has about 1,000 students, including international students from 15 countries.

GCSE curriculum

During the first year of study, students become familiar with all available subjects, after which, with the support of teachers, they can create a list of priority subjects.

The program includes both general education subjects and additional ones, including technology and design, computer science, art, photography.

As part of the A-level preparation program, students study in small groups of 11-12 people, which ensures sufficient attention to each student and good assimilation of the material.

As a rule, students choose four subjects within the program. In the future, they can add subjects or, conversely, stop studying any direction after the first trimester. On average, about 25% of students successfully pass exams in four or more subjects.

Of the 24 available A-level directions, the following are very popular among schoolchildren:

  • natural and exact sciences;
  • business and economics;
  • computer science;
  • languages, history, political science;
  • design and technology, photography;
  • acting, music.

Students also have access to EPQ, specialised preparation programmes for SAT and Cambridge exams.

Extracurricular activities at Brighton College

In their free time, schoolchildren are actively involved in sports sections and creative clubs. Having hobbies and participating in social life is encouraged by the school, it contributes to the harmonious development of the individual and the full realization of potential.

During the year, students are involved in sports, dance, theater and music events, offering opportunities for performances of various age groups.

Depending on their talents and personal preferences, schoolchildren can choose the following areas for extracurricular activities:

Accommodation at Brighton College

Girls and boys over 13 years of age are allowed to live in the residence.

The school offers:

  • Weekly boarding. Students can go home on Friday after classes and return to the college campus on Sunday evening or Monday morning.
  • Full board. Students stay on school premises throughout their studies.

There are five residences for secondary school students to live in.
Boys and girls are housed in different buildings. Senior school students live in a new common residence. The dormitory buildings include single and double rooms, a common kitchen, computer rooms, and a medical office.

In addition to student residences, the college infrastructure includes research laboratories, sports grounds, and libraries.

A sports center with a spacious swimming pool is expected to open.

Brighton College Tuition Fees

Tuition fees for international students with full board are:

  • Grade 10 - £50,460;
  • Grade 11 - £50,700;
  • Year 12 - £52,050;
  • Year 13 - £52,920.

In addition to the tuition fees listed above, there may be additional costs to consider. These may include:

  • textbooks and notebooks issued to students;
  • extracurricular activities;
  • fees for examinations, career guidance events;
  • additional trips and excursions;
  • pocket money and incidentals.
