Canada College

Canada College educates approximately 6,500 students each semester each year and has modern classrooms and science laboratories. Like all colleges in the San Mateo system, Cañada College is connected to a common library. University Centers provide additional academic support for all students, including peer-to-peer learning and workshops to improve research and academic writing skills. The student community provides a friendly and person-centered environment for learning.

Accommodation

New students must obtain housing before arriving in the United States and arrive at least two weeks before the start of the semester to complete a course of orientation and adaptation to the new learning environment. Cañada College does not offer campus housing, but a dedicated SMCCD Housing Assistance center will help you choose the right option.

Students can choose one of the accommodation options: living with the host family, renting an apartment or room on their own or with other students.

Extracurricular activities

Kanyada College students can participate and create various clubs, play sports, and participate in campus student life.

Training programs Canada College

Associate Degree Program - 2 years

Associate in Arts and Associate in Science – Associate of Arts or Engineering degree. The student receives this degree after two years of study, studying courses at the initial levels of the chosen specialty. The goal of the program: to help students by creating learning models aimed at developing individual opportunities. In addition to basic knowledge in their specialty, students also develop other qualities necessary to continue their studies. Among them are the ability to think and communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing; think about ethical issues; develop self-knowledge abilities.

Transfer Programs: Associate in Arts for Transfer, Associate in Science for Transfer

The program involves admission to California State University upon successful completion of the course and completion of an associate degree in the chosen major. Upon admission, preference is given to college graduates, but this priority is not a guarantee of admission to specific specialties or campuses. This – program is a successful start for the undergraduate program.

Entry conditions and tuition fees

Requirements for admission

  • Certificate of upper secondary education (admission in the last year of school)
  • Certificate of English language proficiency: minimum TOEFL requirements: 480 (paper-base), 56 (internet-base); IELTS: 5.5; Pearson: 42; or passing the Intensive English School or Silicon Valley Intensive English Program
  • Certificate or timetables from all secondary schools and colleges/universities with English translation.
  • An essay where the candidate describes his educational and professional goals

Tuition and accommodation costs

International students need to have a minimum of $23,000 per year and about $11,500 per semester. College fees and paid at the time of registration.
