About school Cats Academy Boston

International boarding school for students in grades 9-12. A variety of intensive training programs provide an opportunity for students to develop their potential, learn critical thinking, the ability to set and achieve goals, and gain in-depth knowledge of the subjects necessary for admission to the country's leading universities.

Campus Cats Academy Boston located in the suburb of Braintree –, a 20-minute drive from Boston. These are several modern buildings that were built specifically for comfortable and high-quality education, accommodation and leisure for students.

The campus occupies more than 20 acres and includes: 43 classrooms, including 6 language, 9 science laboratories, 7 music rooms, 3 art studios, a theater, as well as business and fashion laboratories, rest rooms, etc. Training takes place in small classrooms – maximum 12 people.

Boston is known internationally as an international center for higher education and is recognized as an excellent place to live. Cats Boston Academy located in a very good location – nearby is one of the most interesting cities in the USA, as well as Harvard, Boston University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and other universities. On weekends, students are bused free of charge to Braintree tube station and shopping centre so they can have an educational and fun time out of their leisure time.

High School Diploma

High School Diploma – is a program that will provide a world-recognized high school diploma that will be the ideal start for admission to a US university. It includes education from grades 9 to 12.
You can enroll in Cats Academy Boston for 1 or 4 years, starting in September or January.

Entry requirements:

  • 9th grade: 14+ years, TOEFL 40 (IELTS 4.0)
  • in 10th grade: 15+ years, TOEFL 50 (IELTS 4.5)
  • in 11th grade: 16+ years old, TOEFL 60 (IELTS 5.0)
  • in 12th grade: 17+ years old, TOEFL 70 (IELTS 5.5)

Learning process

Unlike many other schools, Cats College Boston offers three levels of difficulty for students with different levels of education. Students with a high level of training have the opportunity to study
complicated items.

  • College Prep – standard university preparation courses that can be taken at school.
  • Honors courses – subjects with in-depth study of a specific subject.
  • Advanced Placement courses – university-level subjects that particularly capable students can take. The presence of such subjects is highly valued when entering top universities. Cats Academy Boston offers these courses in the following areas: 2-D design, drawing, history, English, computing, statistics, computer science, biology, chemistry, ecology, physics - electricity and magnetism, physics – mechanics, macroeconomics, US history, geography, microeconomics, Spanish language and culture, French language and culture, European history.

Optional

The student may choose additional subjects according to his interests and plans for further study at college or university. The list of electives is very large, Cats Academy Boston offers numerous options for additional classes in the following areas: art, English literature, English as a second language, mathematics, science, social sciences, world languages, innovation, preparation for TOEFL, SAT, ACT exams.

Exclusive programs

  • Scientists program – lectures, seminars, speeches and conferences of leading experts in science, history, politics, art.
  • CATS Innovation – specialized elective courses that will provide practical experience in innovation, entrepreneurship, social justice, environmental responsibility. Students can explore interdisciplinary areas that will help prepare for university and develop their communication, teamwork, and leadership skills.
  • Preparing for university: programmes set up specifically to prepare for the tests:
* SAT and ACT – study of reading, writing and grammar, mathematics, natural science. Practical tests and additional teaching time.
* TOEFL – leveling up English in reading, writing, listening, speaking.

Events & Sports

IN Cats Academy Boston much attention is paid to the social life of students, the organization of their leisure time and sports activities. Each student can take part in any organizations and events that will appeal and help reveal their talents.

Leadership programs: students can develop their leadership and communication skills by becoming part of the official program as a student government member, prefect, mentor, student ambassador,
representative of the House of Representatives of the Council, tutor.

Sports clubs: gym, running, boxing, athletics, basketball, handball, futsal, cheerleading, football, frisbee, volleyball, yoga, rock climbing, zumba.

Science clubs: L3 Innovation Challenge (medical technology), DECA Club (finance, management, marketing, hotel), UN Models Club, Math Club, Robotics Club.

Creative clubs: music, Courier Academy (school newspaper), Arts Club, Yearbook, Fashion Club, student YouTube channel.

The Academy also offers students an extensive excursion program.

Accommodation & Meals

Tuition and accommodation costs

For training:
Beginning September 2019 – $36590
Beginning January 2020 – $18295 (1st semester)
The price includes English as a Second Language (ESL) classes when required, as well as SAT or ACT preparation and school counseling.

For accommodation:
The price includes meals using the «full board» system (three times on weekdays and twice on weekends). Students who live with their host family receive a transfer to school.

For a single room in a dormitory
Beginning September 2019 – $22160 - (2 semesters)
Started in January 2020. – $10275 (1st semester)

For a double room in a dormitory (cost per person):
Beginning September 2019 – $19990 - (2 semesters)
Started in January 2020. – $9995 (1st semester)

In the host family
Beginning September 2019 – $18790 (2 semesters)
Started in January 2020. – $9395 (1st semester)

Each student must pay a registration fee of $300 and also pay a deposit of $2,200 (returnable).
Also, students must pay annually: health insurance ($1,700/year), school materials ($1,500/year), a full excursion and entertainment program ($3,000/year), an addition to spring holidays ($2,000/year).
