CATS College Cambridge

Qualified teachers and modern classrooms create all the conditions for each student to be able to show themselves to the fullest. 1-2 times a month, students receive lectures from teachers from the University of Cambridge.

The college was founded in 1952. The educational institution is located in Cambridge, a small city in the UK, which is known worldwide for its rich history, as well as the fact that Cambridge University and leading world organizations are located here - Microsoft Research, ARM, AstraZeneca. Today, Cambridge is a center of innovation in science and technology, which provides additional opportunities for students.

CATS College Cambridge Study Programmes

Cats College Cambridge offers several study programs:

1. A-level is a classic program, which is considered one of the best in the world for further education at the university. The student
can choose 3-4 subjects depending on the specialization.

  • Requirements for applicants: age from 16, knowledge of English – 5.0 according to IELTS, knowledge of subjects – 5 according to GCSE.
  • The duration of study is 5-6 trimesters.
  • The training starts in September or January.

2. Universal Foundation Programme (UFP) – the programme is designed for one year. It is designed specifically for foreigners who want to enter British universities. It is distinguished by its narrow focus – the student receives in-depth knowledge of a specific profession. The programme consists of the following subjects: accounting, biology, business, mathematics, physics, chemistry, economics, sociology.

  • Requirements for applicants: age – from 17 years, knowledge of English – 4.5-5.0 according to IELTS.
  • Duration of study: 3 trimesters.
  • The training starts in September or January.

3. Accelerated UFP – an accelerated version of the program for those who can complete the course and pass exams faster. Students receive additional hours of training each week.

  • Requirements for applicants: age – from 17 years, knowledge of English – 5.0 according to IELTS.
  • Duration of study: 2 trimesters.
  • The training starts in January.

4. Pre: Programme – a 1 or 2-year programme. Designed to prepare for A-level, IB, Foundation studies.

  • Requirements for applicants: age from 15 years, knowledge of English – 4.0 according to IELTS.
  • Duration of study: 1, 2, 3 trimesters.
  • The training starts in September, January, April.

5. High School Term – a program for foreigners who are planning to move to the UK and study here.

  • Requirements for applicants: age from 14 years, knowledge of English – 4.0 according to IELTS, good grades from previous years.
  • Duration of study: 1, 2, 3 trimesters.
  • The training starts in September and January.

6. GCSE – a two-year program of study in basic subjects of your choice. After the exams, the student receives a certificate of incomplete school education in Great Britain and can enter A-level or IB programs.

  • Requirements for applicants: age from 14 years, knowledge of English – 4.0 according to IELTS, high grades over the last 2 years.
  • Duration of study: 4, 5, 6 trimesters.
  • The training starts in September, January, April.

7. Academic English course – designed only to improve skills in writing, speaking, speaking and listening.

  • Requirements for applicants: age from 16 years, knowledge of English – 3.5 according to IELTS.
  • Duration of study: 1-4 terms.
  • Training starts every week and/or trimester.

Accommodation and meals

Cats College Cambridge students live on the modern Elizabeth House campus, which is connected to the classrooms, meaning students don’t even have to go outside to attend classes in the winter. The campus is close to the city centre, close to the University of Cambridge and the River Cam.

Elizabeth House is for students aged 14 to 17. It has been specially built to provide students with a comfortable place to live and study. There are 236 en-suite rooms for students to stay in. Students can also spend time in the cosy common rooms. There is a 24-hour duty officer on campus to help students if needed. Younger students are accommodated in a separate wing where they are more closely supervised. Students have access to a laundry room and a medical room on campus. Wi-Fi is available. The campus is CCTV-enabled 24 hours a day for security.

Students over 18 can stay in Varsity House on a self-catering basis. There are 214 private rooms with bathrooms for students to live in, divided into 6 sectors. Each of them has a shared kitchen and a living-dining room. There is Wi-Fi and a laundry room on site. There is a recreation area and exercise equipment in the courtyard. There are shops and cafes near the Varsity House.

Events and sports

Cats College Cambridge cares about students not only gaining knowledge, but also having fun, developing sports skills, and finding new friends.

Every week Cats College Cambridge hosts over 40 different events: from sports sections to self-development lessons. Every year the Cambridge Science Festival and the Cambridge Festival of Ideas are held here, which are famous far beyond England.

Sports sections: badminton, jiu-jitsu, basketball, gymnastics, yoga, taekwondo, rowing, football, running, tennis, race walking, etc.
Art clubs: handicrafts, photography, break dancing, painting, cinema, cooking, theater, ballet, singing.
Leadership: Learn to Lead, Young Enterprise, Model UN, Personal, Business Enterprise, Fundraising. Students can become members of the Student Council and take an active part in the life of the college.
Science clubs: robotics, astronomy club, board games and chess, coding/Java, discussion and book clubs, historical society, etc.
Those who want to prove themselves in science and business can participate in business competitions and science olympiads.
Trips around the world: Cats College Cambridge organizes exciting excursions for students around the country and to other countries, such as Germany, Spain, France, the USA, etc.

Cats Cambridge hosts a number of events of various types (physical education, expeditions, volunteering, etc.), participants of which can receive the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DOFE). Students can participate not only in college clubs, but also in organizations outside of Cambridge.

Cost of education and living

Tuition fees:
A-level, GCSE, Pre-programme, Foundation Programme – £29,985 per year or £9,995 per term;
Accelerated Foundation Programme – £24,790 per year or £12,395 per term;
Academic English Programme – £19,995 per year or £6,665 per term;
High School Term – £10,980 per term.

All courses are subject to a non-refundable fee of £300 and a deposit of £2,200, which is returned at the end of the year. Senior secondary school students pay a reduced deposit of £700.

Accommodation fees:
Full board (single en-suite room and meals) £15,285 per year/£5,095 per term
Accommodation only (single en-suite room) £11,985 per year/£3,995 per term
All students under 18 must study on a full board basis.

Total tuition and accommodation fees at Cats Cambridge range from £35,000 to £45,000 per year.
