2) Preparation of documents

Most programs require:

  • Bachelor's degree with official transcript (English translation).
  • The average GPA — score is preferably 3.5 /4.0 and higher.

Tests:

  • GRE (for most programmes);
  • GMAT (for business school);
  • TOEFL iBT (100+) or IELTS (7.5+).

Letters of recommendation — 2 or 3 from teachers or employers.

CV / Resume — describing experience, internships, achievements.

Statement of Purpose — motivation letter (why did you choose the program, what goals and research interests).

Sometimes — Research Proposal or Portfolio (for design, architecture and art).

3) Feeding deadlines

Most Stanford master's programs accept documents through December (sometimes through mid-January).

Decisions come in March–April.

Start of training — September.

4) Costs and scholarships

Tuition fees: $58,000–65,000 per year.

Accommodation and meals: $20,000–25,000 per year.

Many students receive financial assistance, especially in research programs (Graduate Fellowships, Assistantships, Knight-Hennessy Scholars).

5) Interview

Some faculties (especially business school and pedagogical programs) conduct online interviews.

The questions relate to motivation, academic goals and future plans.

6) Visa and enrolment

After receiving an enrollment letter, the student receives Form I-20 for an F-1 visa (or J-1 for research programs).
