The programme comprises foundation studies and a bachelor's degree within a single four-year curriculum, with students able to choose from a range of engineering specialisations: BEng Civil Engineering, BEng Electronic Engineering, BEng Engineering, BEng Engineering and Management or BEng Mechanical Engineering.

About the International Integrated Foundation Year in Engineering program

During the first year of study, students will attend: lectures, seminars, practical classes, group projects and presentations, and master classes.

The maximum class size is 16 people.
Successful completion of the programme guarantees the award of a BEng (with honours) from the University of Exeter.

To successfully complete the Foundation Programme you will need to earn a total of 120 credits.

  • BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering - technical knowledge, management and entrepreneurial skills. There is a strong emphasis on project-based learning and the opportunity to work on real projects with industry partners.

  • BEng (Hons) Electronic Engineering - engineering at the intersection of artificial intelligence and big data, students will gain work experience through a 'Year in Industry' summer internship.

  • BEng (Hons) Engineering is a flexible degree that allows you to study engineering before committing to your chosen field, as well as gain practical experience of project work.
