Learning English in New York

Kings Language School it was founded in 1957. Over the years of its existence, hundreds of thousands of students from different parts of the world have been trained there.

Training programs are aimed at developing basic language skills (speaking, reading, writing, listening), as well as special educational skills (research, ability to take notes, correctly distribute time, etc.), work on pronunciation, grammar, increasing lexical reserve.

Many of the school's programs include specialized courses. At Kings, they are very diverse: speaking skills, pronunciation, film and TV, music, legal English, test preparation, academic writing and more.

Kings Language School Center in New York located on the Concordia College campus in Bronxville. It is a safe town about half an hour by train to Manhattan. The campus has a 100-year history, is very beautiful and includes several delightful period buildings. Student classrooms are spacious, modern and well equipped. Students can also use the library, computer labs, and sports center.

Its proximity to New York City provides an opportunity for the school's students to get to know the city, see its attractions, museums and galleries, visit Broadway, stroll along Fifth Avenue, and have an unforgettable experience with the Big Apple.

Kings Center in New York offers a wide range of programs learning English:

Intensive course: 28 lessons per week (20 general English + 8 classes in specialized groups). The student can choose additional classes based on his interests. When completing the course for 12 weeks or more, the student is additionally provided with up to 4 training sessions with a teacher.
Minimum English level: 1.
Course duration: minimum 2 weeks.
Cost – $525/week.

Intensive English Diploma: 28 lessons per week (20 general English + 8 lessons in specialized groups). This is a long-term program that allows you to thoroughly study a foreign language, as well as take several different specialized courses. Students can also take TOEFL, IELTS or Cambridge exams for free.
Minimum English level: 1.
Course duration: minimum 24 weeks.
Cost – $432/week

Aenglish for Fashion, Art and Design: 28 lessons per week (20 general English + specialty classes). This is the ideal course for those who want to combine language learning with experience in the creative field of New York. It includes visits to the city's world-famous museums and galleries (FIT Museum, Mood, MOMA, Guggenheim), as well as events (such as New York Fashion Week) every week.
Minimum English level: 4.
Course duration: 4 weeks.
Cost – $2268 /4 weeks.

Preparing for TOEFL iBT: 35 lessons per week (20 classes with a teacher + 8 classes with a teacher dedicated to individual work + 7 targeted online classes). This is a course for those who want to carefully prepare for the test. An individual curriculum is drawn up for the student, which allows him to achieve maximum points during testing. The training uses online exercises, interactive multimedia, and daily testing practices.
Minimum English level: 5.
Course duration: minimum 2 weeks.
Cost – $525/week

Compact course: 20 lessons per week of basic language + 4 classes with a teacher (needed to obtain a US visa). This course is suitable for those who want to improve their English proficiency and leave time for practice outside the class or their personal affairs.

Course duration: minimum 2 weeks.
Cost – $418/week.

Vacation course: 20 lessons of basic English. This is a course to improve your overall language proficiency, which will help you improve your English and leave enough time for excursions or other activities.

Course duration: 2 - 12 weeks.

Toefl holidays: 20 classes with a TOEFL teacher per week. This is the best way to prepare for the test if the student has enough time. In addition to increasing the level of language proficiency, the student studies the skills and strategies of passing the exam and receives preparation for studying at a US university. An individual plan is drawn up for each student, and they can also practice regularly using online programs.
Minimum English level: 5.
Course duration: 2 - 12 weeks.
Cost – $434/week

English. Discover New York: 15 hours of basic English per week + 1 full-day excursion + 1 half-day excursion per week + 2 cultural and sports events on campus per week. This is a program that allows you to spend an unforgettable vacation living and studying in New York.
Minimum English level: 2.
Course duration: 2 - 4 weeks.
Cost – $1190/week (includes accommodation and half board).

Accommodation

Kings students can choose from several accommodation options.

College Campus Accommodation. Most live on the Concordia College Romoster or Ripple Hall campuses, which are located a couple of minutes walk from the academic building. The residences are divided into sections. Each of them has 9-19 beds, 2 shower rooms and 2-3 toilets. The building has separate floors for men and women. Each section has one or more lounges with TV, microwave, vending machines.

Students can also live in one of the college campus dormitories: Koepchen, Sieker Hall or Bohn. They offer double or triple rooms, one shared bathroom per section and 2-3 toilets. Bathrooms are cleaned 5 days a week.

Students can also use the laundry, relaxation room, and free Wi-Fi.

Students residing on campus receive full board (19 meals per week).

Minimum age – 16 years.
Cost per room for two - $504.

Host family accommodation. Families are selected for students who live near Concordia College. They are offered single rooms, Internet access, one wash of clothes per week, breakfast and dinner daily.

Cost - $454 (out of season) or $492 (in peak season).
