Louisiana State University, the state's main university, was founded in 1853 and has since achieved 16th place in popularity in the United States, 129th place among national and 63rd place among US public universities. The university is located in the capital of Louisiana and currently has more than 30,000 students. The most notable alumni are basketball player Shaquille O'Neal and journalist and broadcaster Brown Campbell.

Entry conditions and tuition fees

There is a course for foreign first-year students Accelerator Program, lasting from 2 to 3 semesters, which leads directly to the 2nd year of the university. During this course, the student learns the first-year program of his specialty, studies English with a focus on specialized education, and adapts to a new place of study. Students who require an additional English course can take the program Pre-Sessional English. Classes begin in August.
