MPW Cambridge

MPW is a group of independent colleges in the UK, founded in 1973 in London, Cambridge and Birmingham by graduates of the University of Cambridge - Mander, Portman, Woodward.

MPW Cambridge is located in the city centre near the botanical garden, engineering and chemistry departments of the University of Cambridge. It will take just a couple of minutes to walk from the college campus to Kings College and The Fitzwilliam Museum.

Advantages:

  • Small classes. For example, in the A-level program, students study in groups of up to nine people. This ensures an individual approach to each student, helps them better absorb the material and demonstrate excellent results in exams.
  • Personal tutors. Each student is assigned a tutor for the duration of their studies. This approach helps ease adaptation and guarantees peace of mind for parents.
  • Accommodation in a modern guarded residence.
  • The ratio of British to international students in classes is 70% to 30%. International students are immersed in an English-speaking environment, successfully mastering the language and getting to know the peculiarities of the local mentality.
  • Preparation in popular areas with high competition among applicants, including medicine, law, business and economics, art, engineering, design and architecture.

MPW Training Programs

GCSE

The program lasts one or two years. The college accepts students over 15 years old. The training is conducted in groups of nine people. Students will study 29 basic and additional subjects, including:

  • natural and exact sciences;
  • information technology, economics, entrepreneurship;
  • history, religious studies, sociology, psychology;
  • languages, English literature;
  • drama, photography, music.

A-level

MPW offers a wide range of subjects to study and flexibility of choice. Students often choose three core subjects related to their future specialisation. An EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) is also offered.

The college offers programmes of varying lengths :

  • A-level is one year, starts in September.
  • A-level 18 months, starts in January.
  • A-levels are two years long, starting in September.

Available disciplines include:

  • ancient and modern languages, English literature;
  • natural and exact sciences;
  • information Technology;
  • business, accounting, economics;
  • psychology, theology, philosophy;
  • law, history, geography;
  • art, music, photography and others.

MPW graduates join the ranks of students at leading UK universities every year, entering prestigious specialties including medicine, healthcare, law, dentistry, veterinary medicine.

Foundation NCUK

This is a modular programme that allows you to prepare for admission to UK universities. It is concluded in a consortium of UK universities that guarantee international students progression upon successful completion of the programme to partner universities.

The three-semester programme involves 21 hours of classes per week and accepts students from 17 years old. Training is carried out in the following areas:

  • humanities;
  • exact sciences;
  • business;
  • engineering.

Within the framework of the program, MPW colleges cooperate with 16 British universities, including the University of Birmingham, the University of Manchester, the University of Bristol, the University of Kent.

Pre-programme

The program is aimed at improving the level of English and academic performance for successful admission to A-level or Foundation. In addition to English classes, students choose lessons in specialized subjects, get acquainted with the peculiarities of the organization of local life.

The duration of training is two or three semesters, which is determined by the initial level of knowledge of the student.

Easter Revision

Weekly courses at the college offer a wide range of areas and provide intensive preparation for exams and testing.

Extracurricular activities at MPW Cambridge

For an exciting leisure time, students can choose from numerous creative clubs and sports sections. The college pays special attention to the development of not only the intellectual, but also the cultural and sports potential of schoolchildren, helping them adapt to life in the UK.

Students are offered to devote their free time to such activities:

  • team games (football, rugby, basketball, etc.);

Accommodation at MPW Cambridge

In Cambridge, students are offered to live in modern residences Malta Road and Beechwood House and Tripos Court, which are located 10-20 minutes' walk from the college.

Students will find spacious single rooms, private bathrooms, shared kitchens and cozy recreation areas, developed surrounding infrastructure. Bicycle parking and small courtyards are also provided.

Tuition fees at MPW Cambridge

The cost of tuition at MPW College depends on the program and is:

  • A levels (2 years) - £26,400;
  • A levels (1 year) - £29,700;
  • GCSE - £26,400;
  • Pre-programmes - £26,400;
  • NCUK Foundation Programme – £20,850.

Additional costs include:

  • registration fee - £350;
  • IELTS (per trimester) - £2,000;
  • deposit - £9,000;
  • student residence accommodation - from £12,000 to £15,950;
  • transfer, personal expenses.
