About the Princeton University

Established in 1746, Princeton it is the fourth oldest university in the United States. It was led by 20 presidents spanning colonial times as far back as the 21st century.

Princeton University has a long-standing commitment to ministry, as reflected in Princeton's informal motto - «Princeton in serving the nation and serving humanity» - and is confirmed by the exceptional contribution that Princetonians make to society. An informal motto medallion is installed at the crossroads of footpaths on the lawn at Nassau Hall. The value of ministry is central to Princeton's mission as a humanities university. Princeton helps students and graduates use their education not only for themselves, but also for society as a whole. Princeton University makes students, teachers and alumni think about how their research, education and life will benefit the nation, the world and humanity, and provides them with the support and resources to do so.

Through innovation and goals, students work with each other to propose and implement civic engagement projects throughout Princeton. Ideas for engagement arise from classes and research, student organizations, and campus events, and many live in the Civic Engagement Center.

Graduates participate in ministry around the world, participating in civil society and leading meaningful lives associated with greater purpose and impact. Every year, more than 15,000 graduates volunteer for city and university projects. Alumni may participate with their class, regional associations, affiliated groups, Princeton University Alumni Association, and others. Every year on Alumni Day, the highest honors are given to undergraduate graduates and alumni for their service to the community.

Princeton-sponsored service programs offer students, faculty, and staff positive opportunities to engage with the wider community.

Among the many initiatives supported by the university community are opportunities to act as firefighters; donate bicycles, food, and clothing to charities; promote environmental stewardship; and host educational and commemorative events such as Martin Luther King Day.

The university's student-to-faculty ratio is 5:1. Princeton's 27 faculty and staff are Nobel Prize winners. Princeton University has more than 300 student organizations. 98% of undergraduate students live on the university campus. Princeton it also offers its students about 400 different programs with international internship opportunities. There are 155 nationalities represented on the university campus. Also Princeton University may be proud that 2 of its graduates have served as President of the United States. 18 of its graduates are Nobel Prize laureates, 3 graduates serve as judges of the US Supreme Court.

Princeton University offers its students 42 doctoral departments and programs, 55 bachelor's programs (bachelor's programs), 18 master's programs and 33 interdisciplinary doctoral programs.

Princeton covering an area of 600 acres, the university is visited by more than 860,000 people a year. There are more than 200 buildings on its territory. The Princeton University Museum of Art has more than 100,000 works and receives more than 200,000 visitors annually.
