New York Film Academy (NYFA)

NYFA is one of the most respected international film academies in the world. In addition to standard programs, the academy runs a summer camp for children aged 10 to 17 from around the world.

You can choose to attend full-time or part-time at one of the school's locations in New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Florida, and Florence or Australia, or study online.

No experience is required to participate in the camp. Children first complete the first level programs and then can begin the second level courses.

Summer camp at NYFA for teens

The New York City campus offers classes for teens ages 14 to 17, Monday through Friday. Classes run from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
Students can choose from a variety of programs.

film production

Students learn the art of directing, script writing, editing and producing short films. They use professional equipment to create their own video content.

Along the way, students develop skills in script preparation, lighting, editing, post-production, and directing actors. In the process, they rotate their positions on the team, taking on different roles.

Acting skills

Students learn and acquire basic acting skills: movement and improvisation, voice and others through the study of monologues and scenes.

They work under the guidance of professional directors and actors, shoot scenes, and end up with a finished recording of their work.

Documentary films

In this program, students learn how to develop and execute their idea from concept to post-production.They learn documentary techniques, styles and genres to create their own content and short films.

Musical theater

This program is designed to teach basic skills in dance, vocal, acting, and theater history.
Students prepare a final project, a show for family and friends, and receive a digital recording of it.

This is an advanced program for students who have completed Level I. They will improve their skills in workshops such as musical improvisation, pop-rock, voice-over, and Broadway choreography.

During this program, students learn the art of screenwriting from pitching an idea to directly creating a script.
Students learn screenplay formats, three-act structure, story and character development, future elements, subjective and objective drama, action, dialog, etc.

You can choose one of the programs created for children aged 10 - 13 years old. Classes for children are held from 9-00 to 16-00.

Children learn the technical structure of the camera and the aesthetic components of photography.They work in the studio as well as on location photo shoots.

3D animation

Kids learn the basics of 3D animation as well as a segment on storytelling.

The course includes classes on introduction to narrative, creating reference frames, using reference frames, basic rendering and editing, 12 principles of animation, walking cycles, acting for animators, giving weight and muscle to character movement, timing and spacing, keyframes, and graph editor.

Game Design

In this hands-on camp, kids learn game design, narrative design, art direction, sound design, and coding.
