The National Mathematics and Science College is the UK’s leading specialist STEM college. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) is more important than ever. For those students who want to excel in these areas, the college provides a specialist education designed to enable them to succeed at A-level and beyond.
The college’s students regularly progress to some of the world’s best universities – ones that can change the trajectory of your life. In 2019/20, 25% of students gained Oxbridge places, with many more going to Imperial, UCL, Manchester and Bristol, across a range of subjects including science, maths, engineering and biomedical science. Students at the National Mathematics and Science College achieve incredible results. They have a 100% A*/A record in Mathematics every year since they opened.
Thanks to the professional teaching they receive, students achieve outstanding success in national and international competitions. Students have represented the UK at international Olympiads two years running, and have achieved significant success in Euclid, the UKMT Senior Mathematics Challenge, as well as the Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Linguistics Olympiads. Students at the College regularly feature in the top 10% of UK participants in these competitions.
Learning at the College never stops and extends well beyond the classroom.
With a wide range of academic clubs and student societies, as well as a large number of workshops, trips and visits. Teaching is a practical discipline, so both in and out of the classroom there is a strong focus on providing students with practical experience wherever possible. It is through this practical work that students really come alive. They are transformed from students into scholars.
