UEA was awarded the honorary TEF Gold award (2017-2020). Its activities were duly noted in the rankings of UK universities - 15th place in the list of the best universities in the UK (Times Good University Guide 2019). UEA opened in 1963. The campus was built on a golf course, but over time it has expanded and now includes a number of beautiful modern buildings, a beautiful award-winning sports park, a theatre studio, the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, the Nick Rayns LCR concert hall, and there is even a beautiful lake on its square.
