The University of Hertfordshire provides students with an intensive student experience and study at a modern, business-focused university. The University of Hertfordshire provides education and support in an environment that encourages academic excellence.

Students will have access to a wide range of subjects and intensive preparation for university study. Situated in the centre of Hatfield in the colourful and modern University of Hertfordshire campus, the Study Preparation Centre provides the opportunity to network with other students from a range of backgrounds and cultures.

The centre’s academic staff are committed to success and will work alongside students as they prepare for exams at an ambitious, world-class UK university.

The University of Hertfordshire is a 20-minute train journey from London. Each of the campuses has its own Learning Resource Centre. They provide:

  • More than 3000 study places and more than 1200 computer workstations
  • 24/7 access and all necessary software
  • Study rooms and offices for individuals and groups
  • Helpdesk, training and online assistance
  • A study cafe for when you need a short break from studying.

The campus is home to a wide range of social venues – bars, clubs, restaurants and cafes – where you can meet friends, relax and unwind or enjoy some of the best entertainment. The Students’ Union works hard to provide an excellent events programme and offer a fantastic range of entertainment: from clubs, live music, comedy to just a quiet evening with friends, there’s always something to help you unwind after a hard day at The Forum.

An entertainment hub comprising of a nightclub and three bars, The Forum Hertfordshire is a fantastically versatile £38 million venue with stylish interiors and state-of-the-art equipment and is an integral part of Hertfordshire’s live music and clubbing scene. It’s the perfect place to meet, eat and have a great time.

The Ele House is a relaxed student pub offering good bar snacks and drinks, pool tables and more.

Based on the de Havilland Campus, this club offers good food, drink and entertainment, with its large hall used for everything from salsa lessons to gala dinners.

The campuses are home to over a dozen cafes and eateries offering a great choice of food.

Sports Village - Whatever their chosen sport, students will feel right at home at the University of Hertfordshire. Whether they are a beginner or an aspiring professional, they will find a range of activities, sports and state-of-the-art sports training and services at the Sports Village. Based on the de Havilland Campus, the Hertfordshire Sports Village is open to all.

The Key is a space for everyone, a multi-faith and multi-cultural centre on the College Lane campus. It offers a quiet space within the university and has a large circular room where there is space for reflection, prayer and worship. The ‘Conference Room’ is where various study or discussion groups meet. There is a small selection of spiritual books, videos and newspapers to browse, or just sit and chat or relax.

Hertfordshire Business School

Hertfordshire Business School prides itself on its high quality teaching and state-of-the-art facilities. The school has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) for its Business and Management, Economics and Tourism courses. Strong partnerships with business schools in Australia, Europe, the Far East and North America add an international dimension to the school’s teaching, as well as opportunities for programme exchange.

School of Computing Science

The university’s School of Computing Science is one of the largest of its kind in the UK and one of the most respected. School of Engineering and Technology

The School of Engineering and Technology has an international reputation for attracting students and producing talented graduates who are incredibly employable. School of Humanities

The School of Humanities ensures that all of its courses are relevant to the world of work through active links with regional employers across a range of industries and professions. School of Law, Criminology and Politics

The School of Law, Criminology and Political Science is one of the largest and most innovative law schools in the country. Having recently moved to a new purpose-built centre on the de Havilland Campus, the School offers a range of specialist legal services, including a mock courtroom complete with a specialist law library and high-tech computing with access to legal and commercial databases.

School of Health Sciences

The School of Health Sciences focuses on the exciting and ever-changing subjects of biosciences, geography, sports science and more. Each student also has access to an inter-professional learning environment across the lens of the degrees taught. The School offers world-class teaching and learning facilities, used by Arsenal Women’s Football Club.

School of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics

The School of Physics, Astronomy and Mathematics (PAM) is an amazing opportunity to expand your knowledge. The School has excellent facilities, such as Bayfordbury Observatory, often ranked as the best teaching observatory in the UK. It has close links with the Institute of Mathematics and the Institute of Physics, all courses are accredited by the relevant institutes, which gives students a great prospect after graduation.

PREPARATION PROGRAMMES:

Foundation – a preparation programme for admission to a bachelor's degree, after which students immediately proceed to the 1st year of the University of Hertfordshire. The course is based on academic skills and intensive study of English.

First Year – a preparatory programme that counts towards studying in the 1st year of a bachelor's degree. Upon successful completion of the programme, students immediately proceed to the 2nd year of a bachelor's degree.

Pre-Master's – a preparation programme for those wishing to enter a master's degree in the UK.
