OLDS College of Agriculture & Technology includes many cutting-edge facilities that are designed for hands-on learning for students.
Chief among them is the Smart Farm. It covers 3,600 acres of land and is used for crop and feed production, including state-of-the-art equipment and technology, a 1,000-head feedlot, a commercial cow and calf herd, a herd of purebred Red Angus and a flock of sheep. The Smart Farm also has access to greenhouses, laboratories, hatchery facilities, a brewery, the National Meat Training Center, and additional infrastructure at the Olds College of Agriculture and Technology.
Also utilized for student education are: Werklund Center for Agriculture and Technology, Botanical Gardens and Wetlands, WJ Elliott Agricultural Mechanics Building, Animal Health Education Center, Horse Barns/Riding Arena, and many others.
The college provides accommodation in its comfortable modern residences. Students, especially freshmen are given a place to stay on campus.
The College offers housing in:- Centennial Village Residence Hall has more than 400 single, private rooms and many shared social and study spaces. Each room has a private bathroom, large closet, queen size bed and desk.
- Townhouses equipped with a stove, fridge/freezer, living room furniture, kitchen table and chairs. Each bedroom has a bed, desk, chair, closet and bookshelf.
OLDS College of Agriculture & Technology students have the opportunity to participate in a multitude of sports at the athletic and aquatic facilities. Three gymnasiums, a racquetball/squash court, a 200-meter running track, a swimming pool, and a wide variety of exercise equipment are available to keep students active and healthy. Students also enjoy great outdoor activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, etc.
