Humber College offers a Civil Engineering Technology diploma program. This advanced program will provide the skills needed for careers in the growing civil infrastructure industry, including buildings, highways, water, wastewater, landscaping and more.
The program is developed in collaboration with industry and covers all aspects from design to completion of construction. It combines academic learning with hands-on laboratory work.
Students learn to design:- steel, reinforced concrete and wooden structures;
- municipal services (water supply and sanitation);
- transport infrastructure facilities (roads, highways, bridges), etc.
Students also gain skills needed to support design and construction, including surveying, geomatics, geographic information systems, drafting, soil and materials testing, project administration and management, and environmental aspects.
Students work with advanced software that is used for drawing preparation, surveying, project management, structural analysis, design, etc.
